What areas do you service?

We mainly service Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Darwin. However, we also cover all regional areas of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

What type of mould is it?

We can only determine the exact type of mould by taking a swab or air sample, which is then sent off the to our lab for testing and takes about 12 days for the report to be completed.

How much does it cost to take air samples to send to the lab?

$750 plus GST for an internal sample

What is your method of mould removal?

First we complete a damp wipe system where we physically wipe all surfaces to remove all surface mould.

This is followed by a fogging system where we release a micro mist (cloud) throughout the property to kill all the invisible mould spores, preventing the occupants from breathing in potentially harmful mould spores.

During the remediation process we also use an air purifier to capture dead airborne mould spores. Our fogging system also provides a residual coating to all surfaces throughout the property to help prevent further mould growth.

Do we offer a warranty period?

Yes we offer a 12-month guarantee, provided all measures such as exhaust fans and water leaks have been rectified.

Do we provide ventilation systems?

Yes, we can install subfloor and roof ventilation systems to help prevent mould from returning.

Roughly how much do the systems cost?

Approximately $3000 plus GST per one fan system.

How much does it cost to run the fan per year?

Approximately $150 – $200 per year

What type of chemical do you use?

We use a natural non-toxic, non-hazardous, anti-microbial chemical, and yes we can provide the MSDS sheets for it. The chemical is also ammonia free.

Is mould bad for my health?

Yes, it can potentially be very harmful and can cause serious side effects such as cancer, respiratory problems, sore eyes, itchy throat, coughing, rashes etc.

Could we have a rising damp issue?

Yes, if there is moisture in the ground under the house then there’s a good chance there will be rising damp coming up through the floor and contaminating the inside of the house.

Can we just treat one bathroom or one bedroom or one surface?

No, there is no point just treating one or two rooms or one surface because the mould is airborne and travels throughout the property. When people walk around they drag mould spores around with them.

On average, how much does a mould removal treatment cost?

Usually between $1000 and $3000, depending on the level of contamination. The technician will provide a quotation on site.

How long does it take to complete a treatment?

Between 1 and 6 hours, depending on the size of the property and the severity of the mould.

Do we have to move out of the house over night?

No, you only need to vacate the house during the treatment.

What do we need to do to prepare the house for treatment?

Put all food away, make sure there are no animals in the house and put all toiletries away. Move all furniture away from the infected surfaces. Take any pictures down that you may be concerned about the chemical affecting and cover any electrical items you don’t want chemicals to come into contact with.

I want to know what we can do to rectify a mould issue from a water leak?

For any progress to be made we need to complete the drying out process, which costs $550 per day plus GST. Once the area is dry we will treat the area with our anti microbial chemical.

Does my wet carpet need to be replaced, even if I don’t see any mould?

Yes, if the carpet has been wet for more than 48hrs then the carpet should be replaced, as mould will have started to develop.

Does our insurance cover your treatment?

Insurance only covers certain types of water damage jobs, so you will need to check with your insurance company to see if you are covered.

Does Mould Pro cover any damage on any personal items such as furniture, pictures, stains to furniture etc?

No, as we provide you with all the information you need to avoid your items being damaged.

When and how can we pay the invoice?

Payments are due upon completion of works unless requested in writing and agreed to by management. Payments are accepted by cash, eftpos or credit card on our website.
